Chemtura Corporation will be exhibiting its latest Witcobond aqueous polyurethane dispersions and Trixene Aqua blocked isocyanates product innovations for surface coatings at the American Coatings Show, Stand 1049, from 8 – 10 April 2014 in Atlanta, GA, USA.
The new Trixene Aqua range of crosslinkers and adhesion promoters for waterborne coating formulations will be highlighted. These products are blocked isocyanate dispersions for use in one- and two-component systems with complementary aqueous resins, e. g. hydroxyl-functional acrylics, polyesters and urethanes. They augment the current portfolio of Trixene solvent-based blocked isocyanates for OEM oven-cure coatings (e. g. automotive, coil, electrodeposition), textile coating & finishing and various heat-bonding applications. Trixene technology focuses on blocked isocyanates containing 3,5-dimethylpyrazole (DMP) as a lower energy crosslinking system that helps reduce curing temperatures and/or improve throughput.
The latest innovations in Witcobond polyurethane dispersions will also be featured. The Witcobond range embraces anionic, cationic and non-ionic chemistry, so aqueous polyurethane film formers covering the full pH range are available to the formulator. The extensive list includes high-solids content (60 %) products, dispersions no cosolvent (including NMP-free) and grades without APEO/NPEO or other surfactants. Recent developments include cationic dispersions for stain-blocking primers and dye lock-down, and cosolvent-free, hydroxyl-functional products for use in two-component ambient cure and one-component heat cure coatings on diverse substrates.
The American Coatings Conference 2014, organised in conjunction with the Exhibition, will take place from 7 – 9 April 2014 at the same venue. Kirstie Rawlinson, Chemtura’sUrethane Surface Coatings Section leader, will be presenting a paper entitled “Latent Polyisocyanate Crosslinkers for Aqueous Functional Resins” during Session 10: Polyurethanes II, on Tuesday afternoon, 8 April 2014.
