China's aviation authority completely bans Galaxy Note 7 on airplanes
China's civil aviation authority has issued a complete ban on carrying Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones on any Chinese aircraft
on Wednesday, due to a potential fire hazard.
China's Civil Aviation Administration is banning on carrying the phones in both the passenger cabin or aircraft hold,
including checked baggage or as cargo.
Airlines are also asked to warn passengers of the ban.
Violations will face punishments based on laws and regulations.
The ban follows a number of similar orders from authorities and airlines around the world surrounding the smartphone model.
Authorities in the U.S., Canada and other Asian countries and airlines such as Singapore Airlines announced bans on the
Note 7 after overheating and exploding battery cases were reported around the world.
